Dental assistant class in Cottonwood Heights

A series of classes for those interested in assisting in a dental practice is now on the schedule for Cottonwood Heights.

Dr. Devin Orvin owns two modern dental practices, and is the founder of Productive Dental Assisting (PDA), a small school that teaches students to become dental assistants. The school and one of the dental offices are located in the same space, which allows students to receive instruction, and get hands-on practice in a working dental office, in the same location. The small facility means that classes are limited to between eight and ten students, and the atmosphere is friendly.

Classes meet semiweekly, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, for a total of ten weeks. The first day is devoted to instruction, while the second is used for hands-on learning in the dental office setting. People taking the class will have a chance to follow and observe professionals as they work (a technique called shadowing) and practice what they have learned in the lab and in class.

The first class is scheduled for July 28, with the first session from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm, and the second from 12:30 pm until 3:30 pm, at the Cottonwood Heights PDA location, 2180 E Fort Union Boulevard.
