Residents of Cottonwood Heights will have two chances to celebrate Easter this year, whether they would rather play on the ice or hunt for eggs.
Young people from the ages of 12 to 18 are invited to an Easter Ice Party that will take place at the Cottonwood Recreation Center, located at 7500 S. 2700 East. The party includes treats, ice-skating, and a candy and money grab that involves people trying to pick up candy and money off the ice. All the events at the Ice Party are free.
The next day, it will be time for the Kids' East Egg Hunt. Attendees are encouraged to come early to enjoy balloon artists, and have their faces painted, both for free. Hungry hunters can purchase breakfast from a food truck.
Parents are asked to make sure their children join the proper group for their age; the groups are for children ages 0-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-9, and 10-12. Each group will have a separate area to search, marked by a flag. Children will have to bring baskets with them, as none will be provided. If the weather is inclement, organizers will make alternate plans for the events.
The Easter Ice Party is scheduled for April 10, from 7:00 pm until 815 pm. The Easter Egg Hunt is set for April 11, beginning at 10:00 am, in Butler Park, located behind Butler Middle School. Pre-hunt activities begin at 9:30 am. Flyer printing can be used to create instructional handouts for events like this.
