Cottonwood Heights plans changes to Butlerville Days

Cottonwood Heights celebrates its founding each year with the two-day Butlerville Days celebration, and recently announced it is making some alterations to the event.

The biggest change appears to be in the parade route, which will switch to Bengal Boulevard from 2700 East, with details and more information on the change to be disclosed later.

A volunteer committee puts on the festival with the help of the Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center and the city itself, and has also announced that they are actively seeking a grand marshal for the parade, as well as entries in the parade itself. The committee members are seeking nominations from residents who would like to honor an outstanding fellow Cottonwood Heights resident who has made a major impact on the city.

With regard to parade entries, the committee would like to remind the community that all creative ideas are welcome, such as classic cars, a business, family, community group, a musical performance or dance group, or even a float. Events like this are great places to display decorations created by using banner printing.

In addition, registration and applications will soon be available for the yearly Mayor's Pickleball Tournament, as well as stage entertainment. People who are interested in nominating a grand marshal, or who simply have more questions, are invited to stop by the City Office, or visit the event website.

Butlerville Days this year will be held July 26 and 27.
