Residents of Cottonwood Heights and other communities in the Salt Lake Valley are invited to celebrate the onset of summer with their four-legged friends at a unique public event.
Toward the end of the month, it will be Mill Hollow Park's turn to host the biannual ‘Bark in the Park’ festivities. Business card printing may be on the rise as participating vendors get ready to interact with patrons and create new professional relationships that will last beyond the day of the occasion.
Canines of all breeds, shapes, and sizes are expected to arrive at the park with their owners. A highlight of the event will be a contest to determine which dog and owner look the most alike. A number of canines will also participate in a talent show and costume competition.
Officers from the Cottonwood Heights Police Department will be on hand to perform drills with the German shepherds from their K-9 unit and answer questions about the dogs. Attendees will also have the opportunity to get their faces painted and their picture taken in a photo booth.
Representatives from a number of businesses will be present to offer pet-friendly products and services. The organizers of the event are still hoping to fill more vendor booths.
Bark in the Park will be held on Saturday, June 29 at 2900 East Hollow Mill Drive. It will be free to attend and will run from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. All dogs will need to be on leashes.
Prospective vendors may call 801-550-8225 for more information.
