Cottonwood Heights will soon celebrate its 10th anniversary, and the city is looking for children's drawings to be used as part of the event.
The drawings must be wordless, and should represent or describe the city either now or in the past. The contest is open to all children who attend school in Cottonwood Heights, or who live there.
A committee will judge the entries based on artistic merit, compliance with the theme and rules of the contest, and suitability to be reproduced on Banners, which will then be displayed on light poles throughout Cottonwood Heights during the month of January, 2015, in honor of the city's anniversary.
The committee may choose as many as four drawings from children in elementary school (ages 5-12); up to six works from middle school children (ages 12-15); and as many as six drawings from high school students (ages 15-18).
In addition to the Banners, the drawings will also be featured on official publications, on the city's website, and in the Cottonwood Heights newsletter.
Entries will be accepted during the period November 22 through December 1, with prizes awarded January 16, 2015; the opening day of the city's celebration. In addition to working with banner printers, officials might consider also working with a poster printing company to create Posters with the artwork to display in shop windows.Get a Free Quote for Posters Get a Free Quote for Banners
