One of Cottonwood Heights' favorite celebrations, Butlerville Days, is almost here. The annual celebration pays tribute to the Butlers – one of the earliest families to settle in the region.
The two-day celebration is packed with activities including bingo games, a contest for chalk artists, the City of Fun Carnival, and the Mayor's Cup Pickleball Tournament. In addition, a number of food trucks will be on hand to provide food and drinks at reasonable prices, and ‘Finding Dory’ will be shown for free in the park. The second day brings the annual parade, and then the celebration winds up with a fireworks display.
Butlerville Days is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 21-22.
In addition, the musical ‘Annie’ will be opening a week later. The city's Arts Council and members of the production team wanted to thank the 200 people who auditioned, and noted that everyone was so talented, they had a difficult time narrowing the number down to the 40 needed for the show.
‘Annie’ opens July 28 at Butler Middle School, at 7:30 pm. There will be a matinee performance the next day at 12:30 pm, plus an evening show. ‘Annie’ will also run July 31, as well as August 4-5. Tickets and further information are available at Butlerville Days.
