Ariel swims into Cottonwood Heights this month

The magical world under the sea will be welcoming visitors soon, when Ariel and her friends come to Cottonwood Heights.

The Cottonwood Heights Theater will be the place to go to see ‘The Little Mermaid’, the musical production based on the Disney film, which in turn goes all the way back to the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale published in 1837. The original tale ends in heartbreak, but the musical is much happier. Poster printing may be used when events like this occur, as fans enjoy having mementos of special occasions.

The theater that will host the performances is impressive, seating 1,100, and offering custom lighting, elaborate designs for the sets, and a cyclorama of professional quality. The theater is at Butler Middle School's south end.

For those who love the show and would like to meet Ariel and her friends, an additional event is planned. A “Meet and Greet” has been scheduled during the run of the show, at which time fans can meet Ariel, Scuttle, Sebastian, Prince Eric, and Ursula. Activities are planned for those under 15, and children under three are admitted free. Tickets are $10 for one child, $15 for two, and a family pass is $25.

The Little Mermaid will be performed on July 12, 13, 15, 18, 19, and 20. The Meet and Greet with the cast is scheduled for July 13, from 10:00 am until 11:30 am, at the Cottonwood Heights City Hall on Bengal Boulevard.
