The Grand Prairie (GP) Nature Club is hosting a pop-up event called Fishing Fun this summer.
This is the last in a series of three pop-ups, the first two of which were held in May: Wildlife Watch, where attendees were able to interact with animals up close, and Survival Skills, which taught attendees basic first-aid and how to safely purify water amongst other skills.
Through these pop-up events, the GP Nature Club’s goal is to offer fun, hands-on activities that allow those in the community who are curious about nature to connect more with Grand Prairie’s parks as they learn more about the great outdoors.
At Fishing Fun, attendees will be taught how to identify common fish species that can be found locally, as well as learn what these fish eat and how to choose the right bait. They will also get the chance to create their own bobber at a crafting station and then practice casting techniques before trying out real fishing themselves, putting their newfound skills to use.
Events like this often rely on local Print shops for any decorations needed to separate different stations, including Posters and Banners.
