The Brand Prairie Arts Council and the City of Brand Prairie Parks, Arts & Recreation Department are joining forces to host a series of concerts during the month of August. Josh Wine’s Hot August Nights will have concerts in the park and the name refers to more than just the weather.
The first concert will be the Vinyl Stripes, a rockabilly band bringing back early Elvis and other classic hits of the ‘50s and ‘60s. Interspersed among the familiar vocals, the band will be performing some of its new original songs that will be reminiscent of that era.
The following week, the performer for the evening will be Blaine Howard, who is a country music songwriter and vocal artist whose original music style echoes his roots in Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, and Randy Travis tunes.
The next week will be Memphis Soul. Motown and classic rhythms will have everyone dancing to this eight-piece band.
The last week in August will be time for jazz as Cody Schwartz and his Mood Swings All-Star Jazz Combo will be laying down both smooth and classic jazz licks.
Fans of these groups will be checking with the groups’ websites for possible Promotional Products.
Hot August Nights will be held the first four Friday evenings in August, starting August 3 at Epic Central Park, 2960 Epic Place. The events will be free and start at 7:00 pm.
