Grand Prairie cars head for Prairie Lights

Now is the time for Grand Prairie families to pile in their cars and head out to this year’s Prairie Lights. This is a two-mile drive through four million lights in displays and attractions.

Jos Barnett Productions have added some new themes this year. These include ‘Santa’s Mailroom’, ‘Pirate Christmas’, and ‘Winter Woods’.

About halfway through the drive will be a Holiday Village, where everyone can get out and enjoy concessions, holiday gift vendors, peruse the gift shop, and ride the carousel. Photos that can be taken with Santa here will still have time to be made into Holiday Cards. Guests can once again enjoy the indoor holiday laser show Cosmic Holiday.

New this year will be the Snow Maze (a winter wonderland labyrinth of turns and twists) and a Holiday Magic Lighted Walk with lighted trees and more displays depicting Christmas around the world. Kids will also enjoy the new Gumdrop Alley.

After that, it will be time to get back into the car and proceed through the animated tunnel of lights and on with the rest of the trip.

Prairie Lights is open now until December 31 Sundays through Thursdays from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Fridays through Saturdays, and on holidays 6:00 pm through 10:00 pm at Lynn Creek Park, 5610 Lake Ridge Parkway on Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie.
