Residents in Galveston can take part in the 15th Annual D’Feet Breast Cancer run and walk.
The event will feature certified 10K and 5K races. There will also be a 5K walk and a 1K children’s run. Along with the races, there will be an opening ceremony with several speakers, a vocal performance, and a memorial bird release. It is likely a postcard printing service was used to create direct mailers to promote the event.
After the races, participants can enjoy refreshments. Following the children’s 1K, kids will be treated to a breakfast and can take part in fun activities in the children’s tent. All 10K and 5K race participants aged 21 and up can get a complimentary beer with their race bib.
Cash awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K races. There will also be door prizes including gift cards and baskets. Kids 1K participants will receive a medal and a goodie bag.
Registration costs $45 for the certified 5K and 10K. The 5K walk costs $40 for adults and $10 for kids between 7 and 13. The kids’ 1K run costs $15.
It all takes place on October 24 at Moody Gardens, located on One Hope Boulevard. The certified races will begin at 7:30 am, followed by the children’s 1K run at 8:45 am, and the 5K walk at 9:30 am.
