A tour is returning to the Galveston area next month, providing residents and interested parties a deeper look into the town’s history and architecture.
The Harvest Moon Tour is set to kick off, taking registered guests on a tour of a local National Historic Landmark to learn more about Galveston’s history, prominent residents, and architecture for a fun and memorable evening. The tour will visit the Bishop’s Palace, also known as the Gresham House.
Guests will visit the home’s third floor and explore how it appears differently when seen during the full moon compared to other settings. Experts consider the home one of the most impressive examples of Victorian mansions in the United States.
The Galveston Historical Foundation is organizing and leading the tour for interested parties. Flyer printing is an effective way to spread the word around town about such cultural and historical events to raise awareness and appreciation. The Foundation, formed in 1871, is committed to preserving and sharing Galveston’s history with future generations. With nearly 70 years as a non-profit organization, it uses funds from such events for community redevelopment to ensure the island and town thrive.
The moonlight tour will begin at Bishop’s Palace on Saturday, September 21st, starting at 7:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM. Interested parties can RSVP online, and tickets start at $35 per attendee.
