Three spooky events, namely Ghost Stories: A Haunted Galveston, Ghost Walk and a Galveston Haunted Cemetery Tour, have all been scheduled for Galveston on the same evening in late October.
From 8:30 pm until 9:30 pm Galveston Ghost Stories will be told in the 1838 Menard House at 3302 Ave. O, the oldest residence on the island. Curators from the Galveston Historical Foundation will be telling tales of hauntings in Galveston while they take guests on a tour through the premises.
Kathleen Maca, author and local historian, will host a leisurely walk through historic Strand Street telling tales of a famous Galveston murderess, 1900 Storm victims and Civil War soldiers’ ghosts. Guests are encouraged to try their photography skills in catching shots of ghosts or anything else spooky along the way.
Pictures that capture paranormal activity are often taken to local Print shops for duplicates for family and friends.
Participants will meet at 8:30 pm in front of the Galveston Railroad Museum at the corner of the Strand and 25th. The tour should wind down around 10:00 pm. Tickets are $30.
Brave ghost hunters may opt to take the Galveston Haunted Cemetery Tour that evening. Two 90-minute tours (7 pm and 9 pm) will be available. Tickets must be purchased in advanced. The tour starts at 4305 Broadway Avenue J.
