Thousands of Santa-suit clad runners will be racing through Galveston during the Santa Hustle Galveston 5k and Half Marathon.
Participants will get quite a swag bag when they sign up. The adult swag will include a Santa hat, beard, and a bright red performance hoodie with the event’s graphic design. For the 5k, finisher medals or half marathon medals sporting Santa keychains will be awaiting runners at the finish line. Kids’ swag will have a Santa hat and beard, race bib, and finisher ribbon.
A Mrs. Claus Package will contain a bright red tutu, candy cane socks, arm warmers, and two face tattoos. Runners who buy the Mrs. Claus Package may wish to snap pictures of themselves for future poster printing.
Everyone is asked to bring a new unwrapped toy to drop into the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots bins. The Galveston County Food Bank is the official race charity for this year.
The race will be Sunday, December 16 beginning and ending at Moody Gardens, 1 Hope Boulevard. The starting time for the Half Marathon is 7:00 am, the 5k begins 7:15 am, and the Kids' One Mile Rudolph Run start time will be announced soon.
Race packets may be picked up from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm at the Moody Gardens Floral Ballroom on Saturday, December 15, and on race day from 5:30 am until 6:45 am.
