Although 2022 Mardi Gras Galveston is not until the end of February, many local runners are registering now to be sure they get a spot.
Another reason to hurry is that year’s festival T-Shirts, sporting the Mardi Gras Galveston Jolly Jester Jaunt 5K graphic design, are available to registrants until February 1.
Other swag will include participation medals to the first 750 registrants, two free drinks at the finish line, Mardi Gras-themed gifts to the first 150 registrants, and balcony party tickets for 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, February 18 at 2228 Strand Street. The party is sponsored by CForce Water, a venture of actor Chuck Norris.
Participants will also receive access to the Entertainment District on February 18 and 19. This will include viewing of a total of seven parades.
Online Jolly registration is $41 until January 21 when prices go up to $61.
Jester Registration of $86 includes all the previously mentioned perks plus Saturday All Day Balcony Party tickets good from noon until 1:00 am.
The 5K will take place Saturday, February 19 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm starting at 24th and Mechanic Street. The course will be through Galveston’s Historic Strand District.
Check-in is at 9:30 am, line-up starts at 10:55 am, and the race begins at 11:00 am. Zany costumes are highly encouraged.
