Galveston parties at Mardi Gras

Over 350,000 revelers are expected to attend the island’s 111th Mardi Gras! coming toward the end of February.

The event will feature parades, balcony parties, more than 20 live concerts, and festive balls.

General admission to the festival will range from $11 to $15 per day. These passes will include all festivities, live entertainment on two stages, and parades.

Parades will begin with a PartyGras! Procession. Others will include Krewes, Zaniest Golf Cart, El Horte y La Raza, Fiesta Gras Parade #2, a fire truck parade, and kids’, dogs’, and cats’ processions.

Balcony parties will include one run by CForce Water by Chuck Norris, and Mardi Gras! Kings Court. The group 3 Doors Down will perform on February 19 from midnight until 1:00 am, and Matt Stell on February 25 from 5:00 pm to 1:00 am. On February 20, Siggno will have a concert at 2:30 pm and a meet-and-greet at the CForce Water By Chuck Norris Balcony.

Poster printing has started for this year’s 2022 Mardi Gras! as all entries for the Galveston Official Poster Contest are in, with the winner announced last week.

As part of the 11th annual Funky Uptown Umbrella Brigade, local and regional artists are also decorating umbrellas for the 9th annual Official Umbrella Decorating Contest. The winner will lead the Brigade on February 18, beginning at 8:30 pm.

Galveston Mardi Gras! Will take place February 18 to March 1 in Downtown Galveston.
