Galveston will once again celebrate Independence Day with a parade and a special kind of fireworks on July 4th.
The 4th of July parade of floats, performers, and decorated military vehicles will begin at 59th Street on Seawall Boulevard at 6:00 pm and disassemble at 27th Street.
Many units that march in 4th of July parades often get special red, white, and blue banner printing done beforehand.
MISFITS 4th of July parade entry bus will be a tank along with little green army people. Skaters will be back, and people dressed as little green army people will march ahead of the tank.
Galveston Island will host a one-of-a-kind Fourth of July drone launch in lieu of fireworks. Over 100 drones will form 12 images, such as fish, sea turtles, and birds that are found on the island, as well as fireworks bursts and patriotic images. Two 12-minute shows are scheduled – one at 9:00 pm and the other at 10:30 pm. The drones will be launched from the 37th Street beach and fly over the Gulf of Mexico.
A Fourth of July Fireworks Viewing Party is being held by the Tasting Room at 3316 Church Street starting at 8:00 pm. The pre-party will begin at 6:00 pm with drink specials. From 6:30 to 7:30 pm, dinner will be served. Guests may enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres from 8:00 to 9:00 pm.
