Galveston goes Cajun for Fathers Day

Galveston Island guests and residents can celebrate Father’s Day this year by attending the Third Annual Galveston Cajun Festival. Guests are to bring their appetites for Louisiana-style and the best of Texas cuisine for the three-day weekend event.

Along with traditional crawfish, shrimp and traditional Texas fair food vendors, other vendors will be selling arts, crafts and miscellaneous merchandise. Corporate marketing representatives will also be on-site distributing Business Cards and samples of their goods and services.

Tickets run $6 for adults and children 10 and under will get in free. Some of the proceeds from the vendors and the admission fees will go to local charities.

Professional athletes will be signing autographs, gourmands will be competing in the crawfish eating contests, and champion-quality crawfish will be competing in Crawfish Racing. Kids can ride rides and play games in the Kids Zone.

Local, regional and national live bands will be performing classic rock, Tejano, country, brass, jazz, blues and zydeco music.

Volunteers will be sporting special T-Shirts with the festival’s graphic design printed on the front.

The Cajun Festival will be rain or shine June 15 from 5:00 am until 11:00 pm, June 16 from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm, and June 17 from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm at the Hotel Galvez grounds Beach Central Park, 2102 Seawall.
