After debuting last year, Pickle Palooza will be back with a bigger festival in Galveston this July, paying tribute to the humble pickle.
The event will feature pickle-themed food and drink, including the In a Pickle sour beer and the Shepherd Mix Food Truck, which will be serving a special menu of pickle sandwiches and other items. Other specially flavored items include cotton candy, lemonade, and sno-cones.
The event will start off with the crowning of the Pickle Queen, who will be on site throughout the day. Other events include a Pickle Partner Toss, Juice Chugging Contest, and Eating Competition. Attendees are invited to wear green and otherwise dress for the occasion, with a Costume Contest winner announced at the end of the day.
There will be a number of local cooks and vendors taking part, with many looking to present the best pickle-flavored dish. There will be awards presented in the categories of Best Spicy Pickle, Best Exotic Pickle, Best Bread & Butter Pickle, and Crowd Favorite. Vendors at events like this often use specialized items or Promotional Products to reach a new audience and celebrate the occasion. There will also be themed craft activities for children available throughout the day-long festival.
The 2025 Pickle Palooza will take place at Galveston Island Brewing on the afternoon of Saturday, July 19.
