Galveston event heralds festive season

Holiday in the Garden will be returning for the year before the end of this month.

This popular annual event will offer food, activities, lights and plenty of Christmas ambience to get Galveston in the Christmas spirit.

Its Festival of lights will be one mile of over two million lights and holiday-themed scenes enveloped in holiday music. The course also offers views of Galveston Bay and the Dancing Tree of Light. Star, as the tree is named, is four stories tall and covered in digital lights.

Mistletoe and holiday food will be available at the concession areas. Hot chocolate and s’mores will be served around fire pits scattered around the concession areas, which will be lit with festive lights and resounding with holiday music.

A train ride will be available to take passengers along part of the Festival of Lights path.
The route will also feature multiple photo opportunities. Many guests who go early take their photos to local Stationery printers to have them made into Holiday Cards.

Other activities include the Arctic Slide, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in 4D, and many holiday favorite films in 3D.

Holiday at the Gardens will take place at Moody Gardens, 1 Hope Boulevard, from November 21 through January 2. Attractions will be available from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm daily, and the Festival of Lights will be open daily from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
