For the seventh year, the Red Cat Jazz Festival will be serving up some of the hottest jazz and blues artists of the current era.
Sam Pink, the festival’s founder, promises that the lineup will have big names in jazz. One example will be renowned trumpeter Maurice ‘Mobetta’ Brown. The list will also include the legendary Ronnie Phillips. Among other performers will be Elan Trotman, Jeff Bradshaw, and Theresa Grayson. Saxophonist Mike Hamilton, a new addition to the jazz world, will also take the stage. The festival will also have a tribute to our military veterans and a Sunday Morning Gospel Brunch. Food vendors will be on site too.
Proceeds from the festival will go to the Red Cat Jazz Preservation Society. This nonprofit organization has been providing musical instruments and scholarships to young budding musicians for over 50 years.
Festivities will be from Thursday, May 25 through Sunday, May 28 at its new location – the Mall of the Mainland Sound Stage, 10000 Emmett F Lowry Expy, Ste 1001, Texas City. The event will begin at 12 noon on Thursday and go until Sunday at 10:00 pm. Concerts will begin at 7:00 pm.
