Active folk looking for a way to get out of the house and enjoy some exercise as spring arrives might want to participate in this year’s Causeway FunD Run/Walk.
A family-focused event, it will feature running and walking by people of all ages in a host of different categories.
This year’s Run/Walk along the causeway will feature running and walking events for kids, wheelchairs users, and people in age categories ranging from 19 and under to 70 and over. The idea is for people of all ages and abilities to come together in a healthy activity that should prove to be fun as well.
All of the races will be 5K, except those for kids, which will be 1K. As in years past, there will also be awards given for winners in all categories, including a variety for team categories.
Those who plan to participate should assess their physical capabilities before committing, and should have a good pair of running/walking shoes. Also, those planning to watch may want to have banner printing done to support family, friends, or others who are running or walking.
The Run/Walk will be held Saturday, March 5 along the causeway, starting at the Galveston County News Building parking lot. Race times and registration fees will vary by category. Anyone interested may wish to check the website for particulars.
