For the 11th year, the annual Galveston Marathon Half Marathon and 5K will return in mid-February.
The loop course will be fast, flat, and on paved roads, and is a Boston Marathon qualifier. The route will be a scenic run along the Galveston coastline with the half marathon covering one loop and the full marathon covering two.
Packet pickup and staging area will be at Stewart Beach, 201 Seawall Blvd. Packets may be picked up from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm the day before race day.
Keeping with distancing guidelines participants will be beginning the races in waves, each containing 40 runners and leaving every two minutes until all three races have left the starting line. Aid stations along the route will hand out bottled water and bottled water. Food will be available in pre-packaged zip lock Bags at the finish line, as well as more bottled water.
Running hats featuring this year’s event Logo Design will be given to full and half marathon finishers. Medals will not be handed out but available for pickup. The award tent will have awards for the full and half marathons ready for pick up when each race’s results are in.
The 11th Annual Galveston Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K will take place February 21 from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm along Stewart Beach to the Seawall from Boddecker to 25th. Virtual marathon and half marathon registration is also available.
