A Houston event, called the All-You-Can-Eat Crawfish Dayfest, looks to celebrate a popular local cuisine while sending visitors home happy.

As the name would suggest, the event features a bottomless supply of crawfish, along with other food and live DJs.

Event organizers Vic & Cos say they anticipate at least 1,500 patrons, although twice that number have declared they are going on Facebook. Holding an event like this requires a lot of logistical concerns, from food delivery to the nightmarish proposition of washing all those dishes. Getting the word out for local events can also be a challenge, usually accomplished by both social media marketing and more familiar Forms of outreach like flyer printing and poster printing.

Vic & Cos, a self-described "entertainment marketing agency", has plenty of experience promoting food and drink-based events in Texas -- their long track record includes a "Silent Trap Party" at Austin's South By Southwest festival, and a Fat Tuesday celebration in Houston that set the table for this crawfish extravaganza.

The Dayfest takes place at Houston's Capitol Bar this Saturday, April 14. It starts at 2:00 pm, allowing a full day for visitors to fill their faces with as much crawfish as they can handle. The event is only open to adults over the age of 21, allowing ticketholders to wash down their food with Southern cuisine's most essential pairing – cold beer. Fish-lovers from surrounding areas such as Katy and Friendswood may be descending on Houston for the feast.
