A local non-profit organization has organized an important meeting in Friendswood.
FISDCares is inviting everyone to its Coffee & Collaboration with FISDCares Community Coalition February Meeting. The event will give community members a chance to connect with each other and discover upcoming FISDCares projects, and how their support will help others and have a positive impact on local schools. It is also a significant networking opportunity for community leaders, so is likely to be an opportunity to exchange Business Cards.
FISDCares is a partnership between The Alliance for Youth & Families, a nonprofit organization, and Friendswood ISD. In 2020, Friendswood ISD administration officials requested such an organization to be established to help support families and students in the district who were facing hardship.
Donations to The Alliance are tax-deducible and go directly to families that need assistance, including childcare, school supplies, clothing, rent, and food. Counselors in the Friendswood ISD identify those who might need help, and refer them to The Alliance, where compassionate staff members provide discreet, individualized help. At present, the program supports over 20 families and more than 60 students and continues to advocate for support and compassion to struggling community members.
The meeting is set for Thursday, February 5, from 9.30 am until 10.30 am at the FISD Administration Annex Building Board Room, 402 Laurel Drive in Friendswood.
