Warmer weather brings music to Friendswood as the annual concert series begins.
Enjoying music outdoors is one of the pleasures of summertime, and Friendswood has already scheduled its series of concerts and films for 2026. All the events begin at 7.00 pm at Stevenson Park, and everyone is invited to bring refreshments, lawn chairs, and blankets to make themselves comfortable.
First up is a jazz concert by the Clear Brook High School Band, and the Friendswood High School Band. The following week, the entertainment will be provided by Funksion, a fun and energetic nine-piece band based in Houston. They are a R&B outfit and regularly appear in the area, playing in Galveston, Bacliff, and Webster.
The following week, the band is Modulation, a band formed by Dennis Gitens and John Gilmore in 2009. They began playing blues and jazz, and over time, expanded their repertoire to include favorites from all genres including pop, funk, classic rock, and even some country.
The Bayou Gipsies, a rock band, are up next, and the series ends with a performance by the Texas City Revelators, who play Texas rock and blues.
The jazz concert is May 1; Funksion appears May 8; May 15 brings a performance from Modulation; May 22 it’s the turn of the Bayou Gipsies; and the month ends with the Texas City Revelators on May 29. Events like this benefit when organizers use flyer printing to create handouts for distribution in the local area.
