People who enjoy running will be able to enjoy their favorite pastime in Friendswood, just in time for Christmas.
DICK’S House of Sport is presenting a holiday race, Santa’s Sleigh 5K and Kids 1K Run 2025. The 1K run begins at 7.00 am, and the 5K starts at 7.15 am. Participants are encouraged to dress in festive attire and show their Christmas spirit. Holiday shirts, ugly sweaters, elves, Santa Clauses, and fun socks are all welcome.
The race, which is an out-and-back loop, begins and ends at DICK’S House of Sports, which is located at 18650 Gulf Freeway. DICK’S is across the Gulf Freeway from the Baybook Mall, a major regional shopping center. Part of the course will take participants around a section of the mall perimeter. Winners will be announced after the race, and a post-race party is planned.
The entry fees are $50 for the 5K and $25 for the 1K until December 11. Fees for participants who want to pay when they pick up their packets are $55 for the 5K and $30 for the 1K. On race day, the fees are $60 for the 5K and $35 for the 1K.
The date of the race is December 13, a Saturday. When they lay out races like this, organizers can use banner printing to create course markers. These sturdy products will stand up to poor weather, which is important for outdoor events.
