New location announced for 2018 Winter Games of Texas

Friendswood residents will find it easier than ever to attend the 2018 Winter Games of Texas this year; the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation has announced that the event will move from Frisco, where it has been held for the last 12 years, to Pearland in 2018.

The Winter Games of Texas are a three-day event that focuses on amateur athletes. Athletes compete in 15 different areas, including wheelchair rugby, lacrosse, pickleball, gymnastics, football, and archery, among others.

The Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau’s executive director, Kim Sinistore, said that the city is very excited to host the event. She looks forward to the opportunity to welcome Texan athletes from every area of the state. Mark Long, executive director of TAAF, said that TAAF was excited to have the city confirmed for 2018. He said that the welcoming attitude of South Texas, combined with the location and quality of the sports venues, made the area perfect for hosting an awesome event.

Businesses often see great benefits from sponsoring athletic events like this one. They may be able to sponsor specific athletes, using Logo Design to include on uniforms, or be mentioned in brochure printing programs as volunteers or donations to the event.
