To help allay any Halloween safety fears for Friendswood parents, the Chamber of Commerce is putting together its 17th Annual Halloween in the Park.
The core of the event is similar to a traditional trick or treat. Children under 10 are invited to show up to the park in costume, Bags or candy pails in hand. The park will be decorated with jack-o-lanterns, spider webs, and other items to set the mood. Meanwhile, dozens of booths will be set up and decorated, each with their own theme. Attendees will be able to go from booth to booth, requesting candy and other treats.
The booths are each put together and decorated by local businesses in the Friendswood area. Aside from the candy and decorations, the businesses will also have some promotional products on hand, as well as literature and Brochures about themselves and their services. This allows parents to learn more about the local community while their children enjoy a safe Halloween.
The Halloween in the Park will be held on October 23 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stevenson Park, located at 1000 S. Friendswood Dr. Admission to the event is free. Booths are still available to businesses and cost $50 for chamber members and $300 for nonmembers. Anyone interested in more info should contact the Chamber directly.
