Friendswood is planning to celebrate the 4th of July in style, with food, friends, music, and fun.

For the 130th year, Friendswood is planning an entire day of activities to celebrate the nation’s birthday. The Friendswood 4th of July Steering Committee is presenting this year’s festivities, “Stars, Stripes, & Country Life.”

Unlike many communities, Friendswood will be holding its activities on the 4th itself this year. The day begins with the Grand Parade, which starts at 10.00 am on Friendswood Drive, between Stevenson Park and Heritage Drive. Participants in the parade include members of the San Jacinto Corvette Club, the oldest such organization in Texas. Participants are encouraged to use red, white, or blue decorations on their cars, but are asked not to throw candy as part of the fun.

Stevenson Park will also be the place to find entertainment, food, games, and rides, which begin at 11.00 am.

At 7.00 pm, Centennial Park will be the place to enjoy delicious food and live entertainment, courtesy of the Texas Unlimited Band. The band specializes in rap, pop, rock, country, or any type of music that gets people up and dancing.

The day ends with a fireworks show at 9.10 pm, also set for Centennial Park. Extensive outdoor events like this can be enhanced when organizers use banner printing to create suitable decorations for the various venues.
