The city of Friendswood in Texas will celebrate the winter holidays with a Santa in the Park event. Attendees will have the chance to participate in several events over the course of the day, and will also be able to donate a toy for charity.
Presented by Keep Friendswood Beautiful and the City of Friendswood, Santa in the Park will be held on Saturday, December 9 between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The events of the day will be held in Stevenson Park, and while the event is free, a wristband will be required for some amusements.
Kids will be able to take photos with Santa starting at 3:00 PM; these images are great to use for Holiday Cards or other printed items for family members.
From 6:00 to 7:00 PM a parade will be held, with tree lighting and fireworks beginning at 7:30 PM. Throughout the event, amusement rides and concerts in the park will keep people entertained; food and beverages, as well as the holiday market, will be available. Snow Hill, featuring 40,000lbs of snow, will also be an enjoyable option.
For some of the amusement events, a $10 wristband will be needed, and these can be purchased on the day of the event. Unwrapped toys will also be accepted through the Friendswood Police Officers Association for the group’s Blue Santa event. Contact Parks & Recreation department for more information.
