The people of Friendswood Texas are getting ready for the biggest holiday event and market of the season: the 8th Annual Home for the Holidays Santa in the Park.
The festivities will include yuletide cheer, a visit from jolly old Saint Nick, and even a gift wrapping service – no doubt Holiday Cards will also be on the minds of those attending.
The event starts with Santa Claus, who will be there all afternoon. Afterwards, a Christmas parade will run through the center of town and culminate in a tree lighting and fireworks show. A concert will follow that will last the remainder of the evening. Alongside these entertainments will be a large holiday market and amusement rides for the whole family. To add an extra dose of winter magic, the town is also putting together a Snow Hill with 40,000lb of snow.
The event is being sponsored by the City of Friendswood, the Keep Friendswood Beautiful Group, and the Hometown Bank of Friendswood. Additional considerations are being provided by the Newhope Church and Stanfield Properties.
The Home for the Holidays Santa in the Park Event will take place on December 12 from 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm at the Stevenson Park located at 1100 South Friendswood Drive. Admission to the park is free, but a wristband is required for the rides, snow hill, photo booth, and some other key areas. Tickets cost $10, but can be picked up for only $5 from special locations with the donation of a can of food.
