Friendswood gets helping hand with home clear-outs

It is that time of year again in Friendswood, as the Fall Haul is on the horizon.

The event gives residents the opportunity to remove unwanted items and trash and take them to one central location at no charge. Locals should note that there will not be a garage sale this year.

The Fall Haul takes place every year on the second Saturday in November at Centennial Park. Goods accepted include garage sale items that can be donated, old appliances and furniture, metals and plastic, tree limbs, and wood. Items not accepted include bricks and cement or hazardous waste, paint, oil, chemicals, batteries and tires.

Shredding services will be available from 8:00 am until noon, or until the onsite truck is completely full. A 200lb limit for each vehicle will be in effect. Items that cannot be shredded include binders, floppy disks, file folders, cardboard, video tapes, and newspapers.

Banner printing is often a service ordered from local Print shops for big community activities. Banners are made from vinyl and can be cut to any size, with text or graphics printed on them to depict specific locations, entrances, exits, and parking.
