Friendswood feels the rhythm at music fest

Friendswood is breaking out the electric guitars, amps, and harmonicas as it prepares for the First Annual Texas Music Fest.

The event will bring in local talent from around the state in a celebration of everything that makes Texas what it is.

The music festival features headliner Zane Williams, who is a Texas native born in Abilene who has released five studio albums and toured across the country. Other acts featured will be Bri Bagwell, Saints Eleven, and Neil Austin Ember. The event is dedicated to celebrating Texas’ independent spirit and is meant to be a draw for families in the area. Aside from the music, food and beverages will also be available.

The festivities are being sponsored by the Friends of Downtown Friendswood Association. The local nonprofit group is one of the lead advocates for events and economic growth in the downtown area, and is devoted to creating partnerships and opportunities that will further develop the area in the future.

Marketing services for the Texas Music Fest have already begun, but there are still opportunities for vendors and sponsors to join to support the event. The festival will be held on March 5 at 150 S Friendswood Dr. from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Admission to hear the music will be free while food and beverages are available for purchase.
