People who enjoy live music under the stars should plan to be in Friendswood in June.
The city is continuing its 2024 Concerts in the Park series with four tribute bands livening things up.
Tonight Tonight, a Cars and More ‘80s tribute band is up first. In addition to performing the music of The Cars, this Houston-based band’s setlist includes songs by Tom Petty, Steely Dan, Elton John, Pink Floyd, ELO, and many others.
Escape is a tribute band for Journey that is based in Houston. Joel Gregoire and Bobby Cayton founded the group in 2000, and perform hits like “Open Arms” and “Separate Ways” to less well-known songs like “Dixie Highway.” They have appeared before thousands of fans.
Elvis is a tribute to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Captain Fantastic is a tribute to Elton John. They are based in Houston.
All concerts are held in the Stevenson Park Gazebo on South Friendswood Drive, and are free. Audiences may bring blankets, refreshments including snacks and/or dinner, and lawn chairs. All the bands preform family friendly material, and prizes from raffles are distributed during intermission.
Tonight Tonight appears June 7, Escape will perform June 14, Elvis is scheduled for June 21 and Captain Fantastic appears June 28. All performances being at 7.00 pm. When events like these are scheduled, organizers will often contact printers who use poster printing techniques to create advertising.
