Friendswood is helping residents get ready for the holidays by making it easier to recycle.

Disposing of household waste products can sometimes be difficult, or at least inconvenient, but Friendswood is making it easy by holding the Fall Hall event in Centennial Park. With proof of residency, Friendswood residents will be able to dispose of household waste, donate items for resale, and have documents shredded.

Items that will be accepted for recycling include wood, grass clippings, tree limbs, shredding (limited to 200 pounds per vehicle, maximum), plastic, used furniture, used appliances, and metal. Bricks, cement items, and hazardous waste like batteries, tires, or paint will not be accepted. In addition, no electronic items will be accepted at this event.

The shredding truck will be on site from 8.00 am until 12.00 pm, or until it is full. The following items are not suitable for shredding: video tapes, newspapers, microfiche, hanging file folders, floppy disks, cardboard, and three-ring binders.

Donations that KFB will accept for its garage sale include bikes, household items, furniture and similar wares that are gently used. No clothing will be accepted. These items can be donated between 8.00 am and 12.00 pm. The garage sale proceeds will be used to beautify the city’s parks and facilities.

Fall Haul will run from 8.00 am until 2.00 pm on November 12. Centennial Park is on Friendswood Drive. When events like this are set up, organizers can use banner printing to create signage to direct traffic to the specific participants.
