The 2nd Annual Galveston County Fall Fest and BBQ Cook-off is welcoming visitors from surrounding regions including Friendswood. BBQ chefs will enter in the contest sharing their tastings with the public.
The IBCA sanctioned event is open to competitors with an entry fee of $300 per team. Over $8,000 is available in championship prizes. The prize categories include brisket, chicken, ribs, and teams placing in first, second, and third positions.
Event organizers will purchase the meat to be given out to each team during the cook-off. The team members are responsible for cooking the meat and providing tastings to the guests with admission tickets. Cooking participants are responsible for obtaining a health district temporary food permit, which has a $75 fee.
The attendees will begin stopping by the BBQ booths at 11:00 am to sample the meat. The guests will be given tickets to drop in booths of their choice and three teams with the most tickets will be the winners of a $300 prize each.
Local printing services are available to produce supplies such as Banners. Banner printing is an important component at outdoor festival and events to use as signage to communicate information to attendees.
The event will be held Saturday, October 10 at Walter Hall Park in League City, located at 807 SH 3 N.
