Friendswood announces summer concerts

Enjoying music outdoors is one of the pleasures of the summer, and Friendswood has announced its summer concert series.

People who enjoy live music should plan to make their way to the Stevenson Park Gazebo on Friday nights. The performances are open to the public, who are welcome to bring lawn chairs, snacks or dinner, or other refreshments. All the bands are family friendly, raffles will be held, and prizes are to be awarded during the intermission.

First up is the Friendswood High School Band, who promise an evening of jazz. The next week, the entertainment will be provided by The Posse Band, a country outfit who won the title of CMA Texas Band of 2017. Funksion is on deck the following week, and changes things up with the best music from jazz, blues, rock, soul, and funk groups from the last four decades. The party band boasts nine members, including a three-piece horn section.

Mojo Faction, a party band that livens up the Houston and Galveston area, takes the stage the following week, with Modulation appearing at the end of May. Modulation has an eclectic repertoire that includes blues and jazz.

The first concert is on May 3, with The Posse Band appearing on May 10. Funksion plays May 17, Mojo Faction will appear on May 24, and Modulation rounds out the month on May 31. When events like this are planned, organizers often work with banner printing to create sturdy Signs for outdoor use.
