Concerts continue in Friendswood

Concerts are continuing this summer in Friendswood.

June brings five tribute bands to help fans recreate their memories of seeing their favorite bands live. The performers are Mr. Wonderful, Queen Legacy, Lost Shaker of Salt, Double Vision, and Texas Eagles.

Mr. Wonderful is a tribute to the music of the 1980s. Based in Houston, Mr. Wonderful plays the emo, synth-pop, and new wave songs of the era of 1980s MTV. Members of the current outfit come from other Houston bands, including the popular “Information Society.”

Also based in Houston, Queen Legacy, a Queen tribute, has nearly 10,000 Facebook followers. A concert review says:

“They nailed the whole look & feel of my favorite band!”

Lost Shaker of Salt is a tribute band to Jimmy Buffett. They play all Buffett’s hits, as well as popular tropical music from throughout the world.

Double Vision is a Foreigner tribute band that comprises some of the best musicians in New York City. The band’s prowess allows it to recreate the catalog of Foreigner’s work with flair.

Texas Eagles is, of course, an Eagles tribute band based in Houston. The members, who have been professional musicians for decades, formed the group in 2019, drawing from another Houston band, Sound Advice.

The concerts are on June 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, at the Stevenson Park Gazebo. They all start at 7:00 pm. Events like this can be publicized when organizers use flyer printing to create advertising handouts.
