The City of Friendswood is gearing up to celebrate the 4th of July in style.
The City of Friendswood Parks & Recreation is the host of the upcoming 2023 celebration, marking the 128th time the event has been held. There will be activities at several different venues throughout the community.
What is already set is the centerpiece of the holiday, the Grand Parade. Participants will march down Friendswood Drive between Stevenson Park and Heritage Drive. The parade steps off at 10.00 am.
After the parade, the place to be is Stevenson Park, where people will find entertainment, food, games, and rides. At 7.30 pm, the action shifts to Centennial Park, where there will be food and entertainment provided by The Man Band. When the entertainment winds down, the day will finish with a fireworks show, currently scheduled for 9.20 pm.
Officials note that there will be no public parking allowed at Centennial Park for the live show or for the fireworks. However, shuttle buses will be running from 6.15 pm until 8.45 pm. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing to create a handout including a schedule.
An additional item is also on the schedule, thanks to the Friendswood Chamber of Commerce, which is raffling off a 2023 Ford Bronco Sport. Tickets are $20, and there is no limit on the number an individual can purchase. The drawing will be at approximately 9.25 pm at Centennial Park, and it is not necessary to be present to win.
