The upcoming holiday weekend will give residents of Friendswood an entire day of fun.
Friendswood will present its 127th celebration of the nation’s birthday at several venues throughout the city. Part of every 4th of July celebration is a grand parade, and the one in Friendswood steps off at 10.00 am, marching on Friendswood Drive from Heritage Drive to Stevenson Park.
At 11.00 am, entertainment, food, games, and rides are scheduled to keep everyone entertained at Stevenson Park. At 7.30 pm, the party moves to Centennial Park where food will be available, and the Party Crashers will provide live entertainment. The Party Crashers are the best musicians, dancers, and singers available, and perform everything from today’s Top 10 pop hits to Latin tunes, from country to classic rock. They regularly perform at corporate events and large parties.
The two parks are spacious, and each offers unique amenities. At Stevenson Park, visitors will find a splashpad, jogging trail, the Friendswood Sesquicentennial Pool, and more. The park is also home to the Friendswood Fairy Trail, where Troll and Fairy houses are hidden along the trail, so children can hunt for them. Amenities at Centennial Park include the Evelyn B. Newman Amphitheater, along with numerous playing fields.
A fireworks display beginning at approximately 9.20 pm caps off the day. Organizers of events like this can increase the fun by using banner printing to create colorful decorations.
