A recent report by Lodging Econometrics, a hospitality data provider, reveals that Dallas has more hotel projects planned than any other city in the U.S., for the fourth consecutive quarter.
In 2022, through the second quarter, the Dallas area has 20,707 guestrooms spread across 173 hotel projects in the planning or development phases, according to data provided by Lodging Econometrics. Following Dallas in the race to increase their hotel room totals are Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York City.
It is not just Dallas that is having a hotel building boom, so are other Texas cities - Houston has 94 projects with a total 10,247 guestrooms in the works. Austin, with only 80 projects in the pipeline, has even more rooms planned – 10,306. Fort Worth-Arlington has 65 projects in the pipeline with a total of 8,005 rooms.
Brochure printing services enable apartment complexes and other developments under construction find tenants prior to their completion.
Two of Dallas’ most keenly awaited hotels are the JW Marriott Dallas Arts District, anticipated to open next year, and the 2025 opening of the Four Seasons Dallas.
Among the reasons for the growth in hotel accommodations here is the state’s business-friendly tax structure, which attracts companies to the Lone Star State. More companies mean more business travelers, resulting in the need for more hotel rooms.
Boosting the city’s hospitality industry even more will be the 2.5-million-square-foot convention center expected to be completed in 2029.
