Vintage Dallas building to be transformed into brewpub
In the Cedar District of Dallas, a dedicated home brewer is taking the plunge and opening a brewpub, to be called Autonomous Society Brewpub.
Dean Weaver, a veteran of home brewing as well as a certified beer judge, started a small brewery called “Deanitude” in 2018. His new venture, the brewpub, will be located at 1928 S. Akard Street in a small, charming, residential brick structure currently under renovation.
Weaver, who primarily brews European-inspired beers such as saisons, pilsners, porters and IPAs, began brewing at home in 1993. The brewpub was the next logical step from “Deanitude”, it gives beer lovers a place where they can enjoy his brews as well beers from other craft brewers, plus, enjoy some snacks at the same time.
Savvy new business owners give a lot of thought to the creation of a logo design to represent their enterprise.
Weaver admits its main draw will be beer, there will also be other beverages, food and sports TV. Autonomous will have 24 taps dispensing not only beer but also wine, ciders and seltzers.
The location will feature a 21-foot-long bar, a small food prep area for pizza, pretzel bites and sandwiches, and fermentation tanks in addition to tables for seating. Dean Weaver has pointed out that space of a kitchen is limited at Autonomous.
A specific opening date has not been set; however, a general target of February 2022 has been given.
