What's Happening in Dallas, TX…

Trio of Dallas suburbs on list of wealthiest in U.S.

When it comes to affluent suburbs, the city of Dallas is well-represented with Colleyville, Southlake and University Park, all making it onto the list of the 50 wealthiest suburbs in the country for 2025.

The list, courtesy of GoBankingRates, used average household income from 2022 and 2023 that was gleaned from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Cities publicize reports such as this one when it is favorable to them, using a variety of methods including help from banner printing services.

This year was Colleyville’s first time on the list and the up-and-coming community made its debut at No. 47. Meanwhile the suburb of Southlake jumped from its previous position of No. 13 in 2024 to the No. 7 spot for 2025 while University Park was listed for the second year in a row as the sixth wealthiest U.S suburb.

In addition to being No. 7 among the wealthiest suburbs, Southlake also topped the list of best U.S. suburb for overall living, no doubt being aided by the high median income of its residents.

The average income for a University Park household went up $8,633 compared to last year while in Southlake its average incomes increase by $22,442, giving the three cities, University Park, Southlake and Colleyville annual average incomes of $389,868; $382,520; and $265,831 respectively.

Dallas-Fort Worth had the distinction of being the only Texas metro to have three of its suburbs on the 2025 list.
