Base Power expands to Dallas with built-in battery

The Austin-based energy provider Base Power has expanded its operations into the Dallas-Fort Worth area, offering as part of its service a home backup power system.

Founded in 2023, the company’s goal is to provide an alternative to costly “whole House” backup systems the majority of which are powered by gasoline. While other systems for supplying electricity during power outages start at $15,000, Base Power charges only a $695 installation fee and a monthly rental of $19. Homeowners must also switch their electricity provider to Base Power, which charges 8.5 cents-per-kilowatt-hour.

Brochure printing services provide companies with a concise and effective means of explaining their services to potential customers.

The company provides battery-powered home energy for 24 hours in the event of a power failure and does so automatically when no one is home. The battery pulls in energy from the grid during low demand times such as overnight, and when demand is particularly high and the grid is stressed, the batteries may send energy to the grid thereby earning money back.

An office and warehouse in Grapevine have been opened to support its Dallas expansion, bringing its total number of employees to more than 200 scattered about its Bay Area engineering hub, throughout Austin and statewide field operations.

In addition to reaching out to individual homeowners the company has also partnered with some future-oriented utilities such as Bandera Electric Cooperative and GVEC as well as homebuilders like Lennar.
