Hidden treasure uncovered in Cedar Park garage

A Cedar Park man known only to the public as ‘Jack’ has unveiled a treasure he has been guarding since 1972 – five pre-World War II automobiles in their original condition.

Antonio Burnet, owner of Motostalgia Auctions, described what he saw when he went into an old barn in Cedar Grove as the “holy grail” for car enthusiasts. Inside the barn, belonging to a man who wishes to be known only as ‘Jack’, were five dusty, but nevertheless in good condition, vintage cars.

Jack, who stowed the cars away in 1972, is in his late 80s now and is ready to sell the vehicles.

The oldest car in the collection is a 1908 Reo Roadster, and the group also includes one of the industry’s first electric cars, a Milburn Electric Model 27L from. The other three vehicles are Cadillacs, and they include a 1933 V-12 Cadillac Coupe and a 1938 Cadillac V-16 Limousine that once belonged to the Wrigley family.

According to Burnet, the vehicles will be sold at auction on June 12 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where the most valuable and rarest of the group, a 1932 Cadillac V-12 Convertible, is anticipated to bring up to $500,000.
