Tap dance festival returns to Cedar Park

The Art Beat Tap Festival will be held in Cedar Park this February; it aims to highlight the art of tap dance and help dancers develop their skill.

The Festival will feature a weekend of master classes aimed at developing the skills of dancers of all experience levels. This year’s instructors include Terry Brock, Nicole Hockenberry, and Terrance “Taps.” Promotional material emphasizes the festival’s sense of community:

“Featuring world-renowned guest artists and a welcoming atmosphere, the festival offers a unique opportunity for dancers to deepen their skills, connect with the tap community, and learn from the best.”

The weekend-long event will feature classes from the Advanced Beginner to Professional levels, which are open to students aged 12 and older. This year’s Festival will also feature Preservation Courses, designed to present historic dance styles and the work of classic tappers. Dances showcased include “Buster Brown’s Fascinatin’ Rhythm” and the works of Leon Collins and Eleanor Powell.
While previous years have featured a live showcase concert, this edition will have a pared-down program showcasing the community and skill development performances. Art and hobby conferences like this often create both social and professional connections, with everything from Business Cards to social media handles used to create connections.

The 2026 Art Beat Dance Festival will take place from February 13 to 15 at the Art Beast Dance Center in Cedar Park.
