Barbecue showdown returns to Cedar Park

Cedar Fest will be back in town this month, featuring the famous BBQ Cook-Off and other attractions.

The festival aims to celebrate everything Cedar Park, and is hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce. There will be food trucks and other vendors representing area businesses, and live performances from Austin area musical artists. Children can enjoy family-friendly activities, including a bounce house. Past festivals have also included activities like rock climbing, face painting and pony rides.

The barbecue competition is one of Cedar Fest’s biggest events, open to up to 70 teams with a total of $15,000 in prizes. The contest is overseen by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) and involves cooking chicken, pork ribs, pork, brisket, and an extra “cook’s choice” item. Participating teams include Bourbon & Blues BBQ, La Pasadita Cooking Team, and Rednecks con Fuego.

Cedar Fest will also include local artisans, crafters, and other independent creators offering unique gift items. Vendors at festivals like this often use business card printing or promotional items to help ensure they can make permanent connections with new customers. Past festivals have also featured mascots and other characters for a family audience.

The 2026 edition of Cedar Fest will take place on April 11 at Elizabeth Milburn Park in Cedar Fest. BBQ Cook-Off competitions will report and begin setting up a day earlier, including a celebratory Cook’s Dinner.
