Cedar Park walk to support autistic community

The Texas Autism Walk will take place in Cedar Park this April, aiming to raise money for services and promote awareness and acceptance of autism in the Austin area.

This will be the 18th annual edition of the walk. Participants will walk a one-mile route through Lakeline Park in what is intended as a fun and accessible community activity. The start and finish line will be a festive area with family-friendly activities, music, and a playground for young visitors.

The Walk will also feature a resource fair, with displays by organizations serving people with autism and their families in Texas. Exhibitors at fairs like this often use brochure printing and visual displays to help outline their services. Organizers will also be hosting a virtual “1 in 31” walk, with participants walking at a time or place of their choice to acknowledge the 1 in 31 people on the autism spectrum in Texas.

The Autism Walk is promoted by the Autism Society of Texas, which provides advocacy, education, recreation, and support for people on the autism spectrum throughout the state. The Society also holds a walk in El Paso on the same weekend, all celebrating Autism Acceptance Month. Funds raised through these walks will go towards the Society’s efforts throughout the year.

The 2026 Texas Autism Walk will take place at Lakeline Park in Cedar Park on the morning of April 25.
