Animals can benefit from schooling in much the same way as children, and pet parents will soon be able to send their puppy to a kindergarten just for them.
The Puppy Kindergarten, which is an initiative of Cedar Park’s Dog Alliance, will give puppies a venue where they can learn and socialize with other dogs. Their owners will be taught about the basics of canine care and training, all with a goal of creating adult dogs that are friendly, confident, and well behaved.
The classes, which are available in person and online, will address problem behaviours that are common in young dogs, and the participants will be taught how to interact with their new pet in a healthy way. Crating and house breaking will be covered, along with socialization, self-control, the use of a leash, and toy selection, and everyone will have a chance to practice what they have learned.
This training opportunity is intended for dogs between the ages of 7-16 weeks, and vet Checks and the first round of immunization are a requirement. Stationery printers will be able to design special certificates to give to each pet parent to acknowledge the achievement of their furry friend.
Dog Alliance will be offering this course starting on August 14. The venue for the classes will be located at 1321 West New Hope Drive.
